Festival Features:
Reggaefest is unique in it’s approach, for two days we will share music and celebrate community.
Children Play Park
Reggaefest site features a covered children play park. Children playing at the play park must have adult supervision, making sure the children are safe and happy.
Kidz Klub – Children Activities
Together with Byron Bay Kidz Klub, Reggaefest 2011 will provide children activities from 1pm to 5pm on Saturday and from 12pm to 4pm on the Sunday.
Activities will include: Face Painting; Craft Making; Sports & Games and Fence Painting (Mural).
The Magic Wishing Tree
A dynamic puppet show that comes alive and feeds your imagination. The eco system of unique plants and playful puppets will entice and entertain you.
African Dance with Bahati Salima
Bahati Salima is from Batare in Rwanda and has been dancing since she was a little girl growing up in her village… For more info about Bahati Salima and the African dance workshop CLICK HERE.
Jamaican Dancehall with Claudia
Claudia’s unique style of Dancehall is based on the flavoursome dance style born out of Jamaica combined with her formative training in Congolese Soukous moves. For more info CLICK HERE
Capoeira with Lorem & Canela
A “roda” refers to the circle that Capoeira player’s form inside of which the game is played. Those forming the roda are as important to the game as the two players inside—adding to the energy and rhythm of the game by clapping their hands, singing choruses of Capoeira, and playing instruments… For more info on the Capoeira workshops CLICK HERE.
Supporting our Community and Environment
Reggaefest have partnered with three of our local and most effective environmental and community groups: Sea Shepherd, The Byron Movement & B.S.A.N.E. The three organisations will be holding information stalls at the event.
